Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference (IDEC) 2023, is back physically for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. It will return across three days from 15–17 September 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center as an in-person event, expecting over 250 exhibitors and 20 international group pavilions with an expected 5000 local and international visitors spanning 2500 square metres of exhibition space. IDEC 2023 will also offer over 18 seminars conducted by over 20 speakers over the 3 days.

For the second time, the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI) collaborated with PT Traya Eksibisi Internasional and Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd. held the Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference (IDEC) 2019.

The biggest international dental exhibition and conference in Indonesia is held for 3 days from 13-15 September 2019 at the Assembly Hall, Jakarta Convention Center and is attended by more than 4000 visitors.

IDEC is a trigger for the improvement in the quality of the dentistry industry in Indonesia because there is increasing of exhibitors by 40% consisting of 232 brand exhibitors from 18 countries.

In addition, IDEC has also become a miniature of the development of the dentistry industry in the world. Therefore, IDEC is not only presenting a comprehensive series of scientific workshops and demonstration of dentistry technology by 18 expert speakers, but also also showed 3 national pavilions consisting of China, Korea and Germany which are the 3 main pioneering countries in the world dental health industry. They are here to inspire Indonesian dental industry players in developing and improving the quality of Indonesian dental health.

The first national pavilion is China. China is a role model in the dental health industry in the world because the country has special attention in solving dental health problems. In the journal “Oral health in China: from vision to action” written by Zhuo Xuedong and friends, it is said that China already had a vision of Healthy China 2030, one of which included the promotion of oral and dental health.

How big is China’s commitment in bringing the dental health industry to the world class then presented through the national pavilion at IDEC 2019. Dozens of brands from the country such as Sino Ortho Limited, SprintRay Inc. and Guangzhou Danter Co., Ltd. and so on present in pavilion. By displaying a variety of implant products and 3D technology as its flagship product, they are ready to lure dental practitioners in Indonesia.

Besides China, South Korea is also one of the developed countries in the development of the world dentistry industry. The embryo has existed since 1969 through the birth of the Korean Dental Industry Association (KDAI). Since then, the dental health industry in Korea has experienced rapid development. The Korea Trade website states that until now South Korea has 326 global dental health equipment companies.

Various famous exhibitor brands such as Mika Medical Co., Seil global Co., Ltd, Sewonmedix Inc., Medpark and so on they present in the national pavilion (Busan pavilion). Bone graft on teeth is one of the attractions that they offer because the technology can overcome dental health problems be faster and easier.

The national pavilion also presents Germany as the main actor of the world dental health industry. Data from VVDI (German Dental Manufacturing Association) states that the turnover value of dental health equipment manufacturing in Germany is 5.32 billion Euros in 2018 (Rp82.8 T) and the export share value is 3.4 billion Euros (Rp52.9 T) in 2018.

To maximize Indonesian market, Germany presents a variety of exhibitor brands in the national pavilion such as Dentaco GmbH & Co.KG, SAM Prazisionstechnik, Forestadent and so on. Special orthodontic treatment products are one of the highlights in this pavilion.

The presence of 3 national pavilions certainly provides fresh stimulants for domestic industries to be encouraged to dare to produce and innovate. That is why IDEC 2019 also present local brand exhibitors such as PT Andini Sarana, PT Bintang Saudara Semesta Jaya and PT Cobra Dental. It means, actually Indonesia has a great potential to be developed dentistry industry country.

Through IDEC, it is expected to be the right momentum for local and international players to learn from each other to improve quality in order to provide the best solution for community dental and oral health problems.
